Tesla alloy wheel repair at our Romford, Dartford and Hemel Hempstead workshops, with loan wheels available so you can keep driving an EV without losing charge-point access while the work is done.
Model 3 and Model Y are often fitted with aero wheel covers, plastic covers that clip over a smaller base alloy to improve range by reducing drag, while Model S and Model X are usually fitted with larger alloy wheels as standard. Tesla's own wheel designs tend to be distinctive multi-spoke or turbine-style patterns rather than the diamond cut faces common on BMW or Mercedes-Benz. Because bigger wheels increase drag and reduce range, many Tesla owners deliberately keep the smaller factory alloy rather than upgrading, which is worth bearing in mind when discussing finish options. Tesla's strong regenerative braking means less brake dust reaches the wheel than on a petrol or diesel car, but this does not reduce kerb or pothole damage, which is the main cause of repairs regardless of brand.

This is one of our own jobs: the same wheel when it came in with tired, scuffed paint, and after a fresh diamond cut and refinish. Your Tesla wheels go through the same process.

Typical damage
Common Tesla wheel damage and how we fix it
Kerb damage and buckled wheels from potholes are the most common jobs we see on Tesla alloys, in line with any car on low-profile tyres. A buckled wheel is checked and straightened, or welded if cracked, before any cosmetic work starts. Where the wheel has scuffed or faded paint rather than a diamond cut face, a fresh powder coat in the original Tesla finish restores the look without affecting range or aerodynamics.
1
Step 1: We check the damage
We look over every wheel first and find each kerb mark, crack and buckle before any work starts.
2
Step 2: We repair it
Buckles are straightened and cracks are welded in the workshop, before any cosmetic work.
3
Step 3: We refinish it
The wheel is powder coated or diamond cut to match, then checked, balanced and ready to refit.
Know what your wheels need? The booking calculator shows your price for repairs and refinishing.
No. Repairing or refinishing an existing wheel does not change its size or weight, so it will not affect your car's range or aerodynamics the way fitting a larger wheel might.
Can aero wheel covers be repaired, or do they need replacing?
It depends on the damage. Cracked or badly scuffed aero covers are assessed individually; the alloy wheel underneath is repaired in the same way as any other alloy.
What warranty do you offer on Tesla wheel work?
Powder coating and diamond cut refinishing come with a 3 year warranty. Crack repairs come with a 1 year warranty.
